Delores Jean Haynes, 91, passed away on October 26, 2025, in Des Moines, Iowa. No services are planned at this time.
Delores was born in Flint, Michigan on February 15, 1934, to Roger and Lorraine (Cleveland) Siebert. At the young age of eighteen, she met the love of her life, Don while working at a restaurant in Detroit, Michigan. Don was nineteen and serving in the US Coast Guard. After a short courtship, the two were married on November 7, 1953. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to the East side of Des Moines where they would both live out their days.
Delores was known for her exceptional baking abilities. Her pies, cinnamon rolls, and cakes won her countless first place prizes at the Iowa State Fair. She was proud of her awards which continue to decorate her home. Delores was known by so many as a kind hearted woman who could get along with anyone. Her kind nature and smile will be missed by her loving family and those who had the joy of knowing her.
Delores is survived by her children: Susan Poindexter, Mike Haynes, Doug Haynes, Dennis (Lonna) Haynes, and Mark Haynes; twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parent; husband, Don Haynes; son, Robert Haynes, and her brother, Robert Siebert.
