Delores Mae Lackey Marks was born on December 07, 1958, to Lou Alice Johnson and Otis
Johnson, in Gonzales, Texas. Delores participated in the flames and athletic program, running in
track events, and played basketball at Gonzales High School until she graduated in 1977.
Delores was a custodian for Tom Robinson law office, and worked as a custodian for KCTI radio
station as well. Later, she worked as a CNA in Kerrville, Texas, and worked as a dental assistant
in Houston, Texas, for many years.
She was baptized at an early age by Reverend Armstrong at Providence Baptist Church. She
spent six years at the Gonzales Heights Nursing Facility assisting with the elderly.
She is preceded in death by her mother Lou Alice Johnson, father Otis Johnson Sr.,
grandmother Gertrude Dora, niece; Vanessa Alice Knox; one sister; Sharon Alice Hastings, and
preceded in death by a host of relatives.
Delores leaves to cherish her memory, two sisters; Opra Mae Knox ( James Knox Sr.), Alice
Marie Cline; three brothers; Otis Johnson Jr., Curtis James Johnson; Ron Mcnary; one son;
Andrew Lee Lackey Jr. fiance (Adrienne R. Lowery), one daughter; Sabrina Lackey, nephews;
Ron Hastings ( Tonya Hastings); CJ Johnson; Ryan Hodges; and James Knox Jr.; nieces;
Lashonda Hastings; Kathy Hastings; and Shelby Hastings. Grandkids; Trevor Cubit; Aaliyah
Dawson, Ayahnah Dawson, and Andrew Dawson Jr., step grandkids (Niyahna Lowery & Sah'ni
Whitfield). She leaves to cherish two special Aunts; ( Eula Mae Erskin) and (Jean Johnson);
special Uncle (Cecil Johnson); special relatives (Daevien Pitts, Madison & Skyler Bowie); and a
special true love Andrew Lee Lackey Sr. "Honey Lump"
