Delores Margaret Smith, 93, passed away Tuesday, August 23,2022 in Green River, Wyoming.
She was born in Clearwater, Nebraska on February 28, 1929, the daughter of Mathias Kaster and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Schultz.
Ms. Smith graduated from Clearwater High School with the class of 1946.
She married her lifelong sweetheart, Robert (Bob) E. Smith, on June 8, 1948. Together, they welcomed three children, Michele (Mick), Steven (Steve) and Gregory (Greg) Smith.
In 1973 the Smith family settled down in Rock Springs, Wyoming where Delores worked as a Kmart associate until her retirement in early 2000.
Delores was a devout member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Community and proudly served as a Eucharistic minister for many years. She was a member of the council of catholic women and often volunteered to help serve her community. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
She enjoyed spending her free time holding conversation, working in her garden, doing word puzzles, reading, coloring, collecting, and listening to music.
Survivors include granddaughter Stormy Wilson and husband Scott; Krystal Hawks, Tara Lincoln, Lindsey O'Toole, Micheal Skinner, KyeAnne Larimore, Ashlyne Niedringhaus, Bill Lyons, Randy Kaster and their respective families.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mathias and Elizabeth Kaster, brother Bernard Kaster, children Steve, Mick, and Greg Smith, as well as her loving husband Bob Smith.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, August 27, 2022 at St Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. A vigil service with rosary will be recited at 9:30, am at the church.
Inurnment will take place at the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the SCM Parrish Center. All are welcomed to join us in celebrating the life of this amazing woman.
