Delores Delro Dew Smith, 85, of Ammon passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Daniel Smith, her parents, Elbert and Eva Strickland Dew, four brothers and three sisters. Delores leaves behind two sons, Henry Allen Smith of Garland, Charles Kevin Smith (Cheryn) of Fayetteville; two daughters, Dannette Sessoms (James) of Dublin; Celia Billups (Larry) of Elizabethtown; three brothers, James Dew of Greensboro; Thomas Dew (Beverly) of Clayton; Jake Dew (Annette) of Clayton; three sisters, Sue Marsh (Roy) of Texas; Betty Dew of Fayetteville; and Annette McCall of Fayetteville; nine grandchildren: Eric Bryant, Crystal Bryant, Haley Billups, Jeremy Sessoms, Christopher Sessoms, Brittney Smith, Morgan Smith, Amber Smith and Cynthia Smith and seven great grandchildren: Brodie Bryant, Deegan Bryant, Jeffrey Casella, Jacob Sessoms, Asher Sessoms, Ivan Rice and Kyrah Rice.
Delores loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed sewing and working in her yard. Delores was compassionate and caring; always tried to take care of all the other residents during her stay at the rest home. She will be missed.
The family will receive friends from 12-1:00 pm on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will follow at 1 pm in the chapel with Rev. Neil Smith officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Old Bluff Cemetery in Wade, NC.
