Delores J. Smock, 84, of Carmi passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Solarbron in Evansville, IN. She was born in West Frankfort, IL on December 24, 1938 the daughter of Everett and Bonnie (Williams) Wilson. Delores married Wilburn Duane Smock on December 25, 1959 and he preceded her in death on May 5, 2014. She was a beautician and owned and operated Hairstyles by Delores. Delores was a member of New Beginning Church of God. In her early years, she enjoyed reading and painting, but as her children grew and grandchildren and great-grandchildren came along, they became her pride and she loved spending time with them.
She is survived by her four children, Monty (Jessie) Smock, of Prescott, AZ, ,Ted (Donna) Smock of Springville, IN, Kendra (Jason) Williams of Carmi and Doug (Kim) Smock of Carmi; 10 grandchildren, Chris Smock, Alex (Taylir) Smock, Meredith Shelby, Adam Watkins, Justin (Tanna) Smock, Kayla (Steven) Jones, Ryan (Emily) Williams, Travis Williams, Jake (Carlin) Smock and Jon (Allanah) Smock; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three brothers, Louie, Glen and Dennis Wilson.
Funeral Services for Delores J. Smock, 84, of Carmi will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will be in Kuykendall Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Beginning Church of God and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
