Delories Hewiett O’Steen, 80, of Moultrie, died on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at home surround by her family.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Pastor Ricky McLaughlin officiating. Interment will follow at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Thomas Roberts, Dakota Daniel, Dale Nichols, Sam Miller, Heath Massey and Noah Moore, will all serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service.
Born on July 31, 1944, in Live Oak, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Axsom Hewiett and Eva Purvis Hewiett. Delories began her career as a telephone operator and proudly served with North Florida Telephone Company, Alltel, and Windstream. Through her hard work and leadership, she rose through the ranks, ultimately retiring as a supervisor from the Service Center after 35 years of loyal service. Her professionalism, compassion, and dedication left a lasting impact on her coworkers and the community she served.
On May 15, 1970, she married the love of her life, George Junior O’Steen. They shared a loving marriage until his passing in 2018. Delories found her greatest joy in her family, especially her daughter and grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She will be remembered for her warm heart, unwavering dedication, and the deep love she had for those closest to her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Junior O’Steen; brother, JC Hewiett; and sister, Clarice Hewiett Kelley.
Mrs. O’Steen is survived by her daughter, Victoria O’Steen Rogers and husband Curtis of Moultrie; grandchildren, Thomas Roberts of Cairo, Dakota Daniel (Caroline) of Cairo, Justin Rogers (Ashley) of Norman Park, Jamie Rogers, and Mark Rogers; 7 great grandchildren; brothers Willard Hewiett (Judy) and Larry Hewiett (Susan), all of Live Oak, FL; and sisters, Linda Hewiett Nichols (Buddy) of Jasper, FL and Lois Hewiett of Titusville, FL; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will be gathering at the home of Vicky and Curtis Rogers at 1465 Old Doerun Road, Moultrie, GA 31768
