Gwendolyn "Gwen" Walker Osteen, born on August 1, 1937, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, peacefully passed away at the age of 88 on October 20, 2025, in Hendersonville, North Carolina.

Gwen was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose life was marked by her dedication to family, faith, and community. She was a cherished member of Mud Creek Baptist Church and a proud graduate of Saluda High School. Gwen also attended one year of Business School, laying the foundation for a lifelong commitment to service and professionalism.

For over 30 years, Gwen served as a Lab Receptionist at Pardee Hospital, where her warm smile and kind spirit were a comfort to many. Her steadfast work ethic and gentle nature endeared her to colleagues and patients alike.

Gwen was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Eugene and Ethel Walker; her former husband, JB Osteen; her daughter, Janice Osteen Fletcher; her brother, David Walker; and her sister, Frieda Martin.

She is lovingly remembered and survived by her daughter, Terri Lee (Doug) of New Milford, Connecticut; son, Glen Osteen (Debbie) of Wasilla, Alaska; grandchildren, Ashli Evans, Sydney Osteen, Shelby Ducommun, Eric, and Chris Fletcher; and great-grandchildren, William, Henry, Luca, Maesie, Boone, and Hudson. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her memory.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Shuler Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at eleven o'clock on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Oakdale Cemetery.
