Susan Williams

Susan David Williams, born on July 27, 1953, in Atlanta, GA, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, at the age of 72. Her final days were spent surrounded by loved ones at the Four Seasons Hospice Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC.

Susan spent her formative years in Clearwater, FL, before moving to Henderson County 45 years ago, where she became a cherished member of the community. She received her Master's degree in Library Science and began her career as a dedicated librarian with the Henderson County Library System, serving for ten years before continuing her vocation at Blue Ridge Community College. There, she devoted 35 years as the Administrative Librarian, retiring with a legacy of commitment and service to the institution she loved.

Her life was enriched by a passion for travel, exploring destinations such as Alaska, Peru, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Susan enjoyed crafting, particularly card making, and found joy in baking, playing card and board games with her family, visiting museums, and attending plays. A woman of many interests, she was a devoted member of Agudas Israel Congregation and an active participant in the Junior Women's Club.

Susan is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Robert and Margaret David, and her step-daughter, Jennifer Williams. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Sidney Williams; her step-daughter, Rebekah Williams, and husband Gary Hearn; grandchildren: Stephen Williams, James Hearn, Haley Hearn and Jeremy Boone; great-grandchildren: Danica Williams, Easton Williams, Nataleigh Williams, Lily Hearn, Michael Starnes, Daysen Starnes, Baley Starnes, and Delilah Starnes; brother-in-law, Danny Williams; and sister-in-law, Sharon Williams.

A memorial service to celebrate Susan's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Agudas Israel Congregation, followed by burial at Oakdale Cemetery. Susan's warmth, kindness, and dedication to both her family and community will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.
