Deloris "Dot" Adams

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Ms. Deloris Adams, age 81, of Effingham, who peacefully transitioned on Sunday, November 9, 2025.

Deloris "Dot" Adams, affectionately known as Dot, was born on October 10, 1944, to the late Cal and Maria Williams Adams.
Born and raised in Florence County, Dot was educated in the Florence County Public School System. She was a devoted member of Savannah Grove Baptist Church, where she was baptized at an early age and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. Her Christian journey began with faithful attendance in Sunday School and Bible School.
Dot learned the value of hard work early in life while working alongside her parents on the family farm. Together, they grew a variety of vegetables and crops that they sold within their community and local markets.
Throughout her lifetime, Dot attended several Adult Daycare Centers in Florence County. She truly cherished the care and fellowship she received, forming meaningful relationships with both the staff and her peers. These visits became her daily outings until her health declined.
Dot especially loved traveling, with favorite trips including vacations to Myrtle Beach and Waldorf, Maryland.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Cal and Maria Adams, and her sister, Pearl Gee.
Left to cherish her precious memories are four devoted nieces: Joyce Perkins, Gwendolyn Gee, Clemietine Gee, and Gloria Wright, all of the Savannah Grove community; one nephew, Ned Gee III of Waldorf, Maryland; and a host of grand, great-grand, and great-great-grand nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and friends.
