Deloris Edwards Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Shaffer Funeral Home - Sherwood on Oct. 1, 2025.
Deloris Fay Edwards, a beacon of love and courage, passed away peacefully from natural causes on September 25, 2025, at the age of 84, in San Angelo, Texas. Born on September 10, 1941, in Lamesa, Texas, to the late Margaret and Grady Madry, Deloris was a cherished sister to Sissy Madry Humphrey, Sammie Madry Webb, Gene Madry, Bill Madry, and Jimmy Madry. Her legacy continues through her adoring children, Darrell White, Loy White, Roy White, and Bobby Jo White, as well as her treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Deloris, a graduate of Lake View High School, was a devout Christian whose faith guided her throughout her life. Her passion for life was evident in her love for old movies, engaging in games with friends, and her unwavering commitment to her family. She was the matriarch who bound her family with threads of compassion and resilience.
Known for her loving nature, Deloris was a cornerstone in her family's life. Her children, including her sons, Darrell, Loy, and Roy, and her daughter, Bobby Jo, were her pride and joy. Alongside her daughters-in-law, Angela Watkins and Judy White, she instilled values of kindness and strength. Deloris's legacy is carried on by her grandchildren, Ashley George, Kelly Wilson, Laryn, Natalie, Joy, Taylor White, Justin White, and Kyle White, who will forever cherish the memories created with their beloved grandmother. Her great-grandsons, Grayson, Baker, and Hudson George, were the light of her later years, and she reveled in their youthful energy and innocence.
Deloris's life was one of unwavering love and passion. She faced challenges with courage, never faltering in her resolve to support and uplift those around her. Her presence was a source of comfort and inspiration, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
As we bid farewell to Deloris, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was. Her spirit, a blend of tenderness and tenacity, will continue to guide us. We take solace in the knowledge that she lived a full life, surrounded by those she loved and who loved her in return. Deloris's story is not one of an ending, but a lasting legacy that will be honored by her family and all who knew her.
In the hearts of those she touched, Deloris Fay Edwards will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her passion for life and her courageous spirit will remain as a beacon of hope and love for generations to come. As we reflect on her life, we are reminded of the joy and warmth she brought into this world, and we are grateful for the time we had with her. Deloris's life was a testament to the beauty of a heart given fully to others, and she will be dearly missed.
