Deloris Jean May passed away Monday, December 22, 2025, at Baptist Health Floyd. She was born July 20, 1938, the daughter of Jerome King and Helen Miller.

She was a former member of Northside Christian Church and a current member of Georgetown Christian Church; Deloris was known for her steadfast faith and her 30-year career as a house cleaner. She was a woman of remarkable loyalty who cherished her friends and family above all else. Deloris never met a stranger and loved the simple joy of connecting with others, but her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, James Sample, one daughter, Peggy Sample, three brothers: Edsel King, Melvin King, and Jerry King.

Deloris is survived by her husband of 52 years, Raymond Glenn May, one son, Maurice Ray May (Tabatha), two stepdaughters: Jill Combs (Tony) and Sarah Travis, grandchildren: Roman Lucas May and Seth Alexander May, step grandchildren: Michael Combs (Taylor), Jonathan Combs, Elizabeth Combs, Amanda Clapp (Matt), Rebecca Kaelin (Jordan), Siblings: Jim King, Wayne King and Myrna Williar, many step great grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews and a host of extended family.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Gehlbach and Royse Funeral Home (318 East Chestnut Street, Corydon, Indiana 47112).

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday December 26, 2025, and again on Saturday, December 27 from 9:00 AM until the service time, all at the Corydon funeral home.

Burial will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.

Gehlbach & Royse was in charge of all arrangements.
