Deloris Riggs Obituary
Dee spent over three decades as a dedicated lead bookkeeper at the former 1st National Bank, now United Bank, in Moundsville, WV. Her commitment to her work and her impeccable attention to detail made her a cherished colleague and a valued part of the bank's team.
In her personal life, Dee had a deep love for dogs and was known for her caring and giving nature. As a child, she was a bit of a tomboy, a trait that spoke to her spirited independence and self-assuredness-traits that never faded and defined her throughout her life. She was very much her own boss, leading her life with determination and a strong sense of self.
Dee was a proud aunt, and her family meant the world to her. She is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Jessie Johnson Riggs; her aunt and uncle, Beryl and Frank Carmichael; and her brother-in-law, Gary Simons. She leaves behind her devoted and caring sister, Betty Simons; her beloved niece, Jennifer Giannasi; and great-niece and nephew, Allison Giannasi and Jarred Giannasi.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the care team and staff at Moundsville Healthcare, where Dee spent her final months as the unofficial greeter, bringing warmth and joy to those around her.
A private burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery at a later date.
