Deloris Hext Rogers was born on February 14, 1946, in Leesville to Rev. Joe Hext and Dovie Ettie Wood Hext. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior and the love of her life Bill Rogers on November 4, 2025, at the Woodlands in Leesville, LA. She was raised in Leesville and graduated from Leesville High School in 1963. She worked for many years at Morgan and Lindsey Department store downtown 3rd Street in Leesville. She later went to work at North Polk Elementary School as secretary where she retired after 29 years. She married her precious Bill on August 17, 1979, and they were inseparable for 45 years. They were faithful members of Beulah Baptist Church in Many making the trip from Hornbeck to Many at least three times a week, more if need be for their entire married life. They served in any capacity that they were asked to fulfill. Her beautiful soprano voice would ring out in song as she glorified God by using her gift. She was always "Aunt Deloris" to all of her nieces and nephews until 1982 when John came along and couldn't pronounce Deloris and she became "Tossie". Years later she became "Grammy" when Natalie was born and to all the babies born after her. She wore the name with extreme pride. She led us all by example and will always be a guiding light to those of us she left behind. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill, her parents, sisters, Aubrey, Audrey, Dot, Faxon Lee, Thelma, Dovie, Dona, Evon, and infant Linda Faye, and brothers, W.D. and Joe. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Funeral services honoring the life of Deloris Hext Rogers will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Beulah Baptist Church with Reverends John Lewing II and Kenneth Leach officiating. Burial will follow in Beulah Cemetery under the direction of Jeane's Funeral Service. Serving as pallbearers will be John Lewing Sr., Jake Lewing, Robert Armstrong, Adam Gwin, Mikey LeBlanc, Garry Pridgen, and Scott Hutchinson. A time of visitation will be held at the church on Friday, from 11:00 AM until time of service.
