Statesboro, Georgia Mrs. Delorise Smith Smart, entered peacefully into Monday, September 15, 2025, at her residence with her family by her bedside. The Bulloch County native was the daughter of the late John Franklin and Thelma Johnson Smith. She received her formal education in the Bulloch County School System and was a graduate of the Southeast Bulloch High School class of 1978. She was a member of the Jerusalem A.M.E. Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Van Smith, James Smith and Sandra Lanier. Those let to cherish her memories are her husband of forty-seven years, Larry Smart, Statesboro, GA, her children, Nishera Smart and Willis Smart, both of Statesboro, GA, god children, Dana Marshall, Atlanta, GA and Shannon Marshall, Augusta, GA, Kenny Davis and Devin Lee, both of Oliver, GA, Andria (Greg) Wright, Bean and Charles Robinson, all of Statesboro, GA, Demario Canty, Valdosta, GA and Alex Lanier of Jacksonville, GA, her grandchildren, Kashera Lee and Keyshawn Lee, both of Statesboro, GA, one sisters, Barbara Ann Smith, Brooklet, GA, two brothers, Amos (Beverly) Smith and Lawrence (Katarsha) Smith, both of Statesboro, GA, special aunts, Mae Liza Smith, Brooklet, GA and Francis Walker-Johnson both of Statesboro, GA, special uncle, Brantley Smith, Brooklet, GA, a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. No scheduled visitation will be held. Viewing will take place on the day of service. The funeral service for Mrs. Delorise Smith Smart, will be held at 2 P.M., Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the Miller Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Harry J. Tremble, Jr., pastor, and Presiding Elder Anthony Scott, officiating. Burial will follow in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens. Final rites have been entrusted to Hill's Mortuary, Inc
