Deloris A. Stewart

Deloris A. Stewart, 93, of Freeport, Illinois passed away peacefully on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Liberty Village Manor Court. She was born January 26, 1933, in Freeport, the daughter of Melvin and Gladys (Brinkmeier) Beidler. Deloris married Richard W. Stewart Sr. on February 18, 1950, in Freeport. He passed away on October 7, 1999.

She had been employed for many years at Burgess Battery and then at Sundstrand where she retired.

After selling their family home, Deloris and Rich moved to Lincoln Towers in Freeport. Deloris made many friends there and enjoyed playing cards and all their social gatherings.

She is survived by her four children: daughter, Linda Whalen of Freeport; three sons; Larry (Debbie) Stewart of Freeport, Leland Stewart of Lewisville, TX and Richard (Erin) Stewart of Freeport. Also, three sisters; Lorraine Quies, Marilyn Cummins, and Donna Meinert. Also, surviving are ten grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Deloris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Kenny Beidler, sister Carol Heilman, son-in-law Gerald Whalen and daughter-in-law Susan Stewart.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Manor Court and FHN Hospice for their genuine care and concern for Deloris.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
