Delphie Duberstein Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapels - Glen Haven Chapel on Nov. 8, 2024.
Duberstein, Delphie "Dell" Laverne February 4, 1930 - November 7, 2024 Dell, 94 years old, peacefully left this world for a heavenly home in the first hour of November 7th with family by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mary Anderson, and sister, Darlene Rasmussen. She is survived by her son, Lonnie Duberstein (Nancy); her daughter, Lynn St. John, and her four grandchildren, Charles Johnson (Kathleen), Stephanie Johnson (Erin), Jennifer Adler, and Brittany Whiteis (Kevin); her six great-grandchildren, Ireland Johnson, Erie Johnson, and Phoenix Johnson, Jordan Adler, Austin Adler, Logan Adler. Dell was born to a carpenter and homemaker in Grand Forks, North Dakota, almost 95 years ago. She and her descendants can truthfully say that they are descendants of Mary and Joseph. Fittingly, she exemplified the Golden Rule throughout her life. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" and "Love your neighbor as yourself" were more than just words to her. Dell cherished time with family and friends, sewing, cooking, going to garage sales, playing canasta and solitaire, bingo, slot machines, gardening, and even pulling weeds and shoveling snow! The family will never forget her for sharing warm hugs, endless smiles, boundless love, and unconditional support. She shared in the excitement and joy of others and was always there to help "make things better," especially for Lonnie and Lynn in their younger years. Her most notable quality was her unwavering desire to support her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, through her playful, caring nature, revealing her compassion for giving. She truly embodied the saying, "In the end, only kindness matters." Dell's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the professional medical teams at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN, and the compassionate staff at the Good Samaritan Society of New Hope, MN, who provided care several times during her final years. They also thank the caring staff of Grace Hospice for their attentive care during her last days. The family is also forever thankful to the many family members and friends throughout this journey. Dell's Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m., service will begin at 4:00 p.m., and a meal will follow at: www.Washburn-McReavy.com Glen Haven Chapel 763-533-8643 5125 W. Broadway, Crystal,MN 55429
