Delphine "Del" Janicki (Moczynski) passed away July 13, 2025, at the age of 93. She joins
her loving husband Robert "Bob" Janicki, who passed in January 2022.
Del and Bob met as young adults at a mixer, where they were paired up for a dance. The
sparks didn't fly at first. But the two, who grew up just a block away from each other as
children, began to see each other more frequently after that first encounter. They began to
meet up at the corner to ride the bus to work. One day on the bus, Bob asked Del out on a
date. Then each of their parents picked up and moved - and became neighbors. "It was
fate," Del said. "We've been dating ever since." They wed in September 1953 and enjoyed
68 years together.
Del was born and raised in Wisconsin. When Bob owned a men's fine clothing store in
West Allis, Del worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for him. The two retired to
Florida in the 1980s -first in Longwood then in Spring Hill. They spent their final years in
Tampa to be closer to family.
Del enjoyed entertaining- and a daily cocktail- playing cards and mahjong, and cheering
on her Green Bay Packers with friends.
Del was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Irene Moczynski, her husband, Bob,
and her brother Melvin (and Laverne) Moczynski.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews and many grand and great-grand nieces
and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held in the near future, with details forthcoming. Her final
internment will occur with Bob in Wisconsin at a later date.
