Deltrie Bruce "Buck" Walton

Deltrie Bruce "Buck" Walton, 88, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Summerhill Nursing Home in Perry. Services will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Wesley Chapel Church, located on the corner of Wesley Chapel Road and Taylor's Mill Road in Crawford County, with visitation beginning at 3:00 PM followed by funeral service at 4:00 PM. Burial will be in Wesley Chapel Church Cemetery. His nephew, Gary Griffin, will officiate.
Born in Byron to the late John Ernest Walton and Fannie Bell Wilder Walton, Buck worked in the textile industry at Kellwood for many years, then at Bibb Manufacturing Company. He was a lifelong resident of Crawford County and lifelong member of Wesley Chapel Church. After retirement, his passion became the art of "tinkering", or as some would say, fixing lawnmowers and such.
Survivors include his nephew and nieces, Gary Griffin, Diane Griffin, Margo Carnes (David), and Christy Pope (Mike); 8 great nieces and nephews and 16 great-great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his long time companion, Catherine Arrowsmith, and sisters, Evelyn Walton Griffin and Kathryn Walton Holland.
In lieu of flowers, family respectfully requests donations be made to Wesley Chapel Church, c/o Dorothy Walton-Trostle, 1220 Oakhill Road, Perry, GA 31069. Rooks Funeral Home in Fort Valley is in charge of arrangements.
