Mr. Demarcus E. Mc Gee
Demarcus Edward McGee, affectionately known as "Scooter" by family and friends, was born July 19, 1992 in
Atlanta, Georgia, for which he was the first child to birth parents Ralph "Beau" Coleman and Michelle McGee. At 10 months, Demarcus was included as the youngest member of Burnett and Debbie Claxton's family. Demarcus inherited three older siblings: Kimberly Tiffany and Jason. At a very young age Demarcus learned the family trade and worked with his dad as a drywall finisher. He enjoyed playing football, basketball, fishing, video gaming, and most of all spending time with his grandparents Robert and Hattie Hodge. Demarcus confessed Christ as his savior and was baptized at Sandhill Missionary Baptist Church in Edwards, Mississippi. He loved church and served in the junior choir, junior usher board, and helper for Heavenly Manor food pantry. He attended Clinton Public Schools K-12 and found his love for auto mechanics at the Clinton Career complex. At the age of 21, Damarcus moved to
Dallas, Texas in 2013. He became of member of Grace Celebration Fellowship Church, pastored by Earl P. Young in West
Dallas, Texas Demarcus met his life partner Zariah Brown. Together they welcomed their first child Zhaide` Delilah McGee on January 28, 2023. He was a proud father and dedicated his life to being the best father and provider to his baby girl until God called him home June 9, 2024. He leaves to honor his life and cherish his memories: his parental mother, Debbie Claxton (Clinton, Mississippi); maternal mother, Michelle McGee (Jacksonville, Florida); siblings: Kimberly Claxton (Clinton, Mississippi); Tiffany Claxton (
Dallas, Texas), LaShaundra Gray (Clinton, Mississippi) and Jason Claxton (Clinton, Mississippi); a beloved daughter, Zhaide` Delilah McGee and her mother Zariah Brown (
Dallas, Texas); nieces and nephews, Amaris Jones (Ridgeland, Mississippi), Ivory Claxton (Herndon, Virginia), Christian Jones (Clinton, Mississippi), Jason Claxton, II (Desoto, Mississippi) and Addison Claxton (Clinton, Mississippi); great nephews, Dexter Morgan, III (Clinton, Mississippi), and Bryden Antwi (Herndon, Virginia); great aunts, Pamela Miller (Clinton, Mississippi) Bobbie and Ben White (Huntsville, Alabama), Roshell (Lonzo) Bullie (
Jackson, Mississippi), Sara Ann Claxton (
Jackson, Mississippi), Tracey and Robert Anthony (Woodlands, Texas); great uncles, Gregory Coleman (
Jackson, Mississippi), Robert and Brenda Bryant (
Jackson, Mississippi), Ronnie and Angela Claxton (
Jackson, Mississippi), Wardell Claxton (
Dallas, Texas), Larry and Gwen Claxton (Katy, Texas), and Michael Ducksworth (Columbus, Georgia); along with a host of cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by: paternal father, Ralph Edward Coleman; parental father, Burnett Claxton; grandparents, Robert and Hattie Mae Hodge; paternal grandfather, Willie Coleman; parental grandparents, Wilbert Claxton, Dorothy Claxton and Leanna Ducksworth; aunt, Ivory Joyce Coleman; uncles, Alfred Lindsey, James Claxton, Milton, Jerry and Louis Von Ducksworth.
