It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Demethrio Antonio
Dean Gallegos known as Deme. He left us on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the age of 25. Demewas born April 6, 2000, in Durango, Colorado and was the cherished son of Clinton and Andrea Gallegos and Alishea and Arthur Mackey, Jr. He graduated from Farmington High School in 2018. Deme was the bright light in all of our lives. He was known for his infectious laugh and his generous, kind, and free loving spirit. From a young age, he had a passion for video games and electronics. Deme went on to become a Master Electronic Technician. He enjoyed helping others wherever he went and loved being with family, friends, and doing outdoor activities especially hiking. Being a profound believer in philosophy, wisdom, and faith, Deme enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others. Deme was loved by many and will be forever missed.
He is survived by his parents Clinton and Andrea Gallegos and Alishea and Arthur Mackey, Jr.; his brothers Emilio (Angel), Dominic, Kali (Evelyn), Gabriel, Elias; his sisters Analiyah (Cameron), Amaray, Arya, Niema; three precious nieces Cattaleya, Scarlett, and Delilah. His grandparents are Sherrie Gallegos (Dennis), Jacque and Gary Payne, Retta and Arthur Mackey, Sr., Melissa and Larry Archer and great-grandma Beverly Payne; his aunts and uncles Seth and Toni Payne, Cassidy Payne, Amy Gallegos, Scott and Bethel Gallegos; and many beloved cousins. His beloved close friends, the Squad Six,Trevor Scholfield, Ethan Harris, Connor Mayer, Garrett Howell, Sam Burns, and Emilio Gallegos, plus Ruby Perez; and his most precious pup Cinderella (Cin) Gallegos. He was preceded in death by his grandpa Dennis Gallegos and his great-grandparents Janet and Art Kittell, Ruby and Jack Johnson, and Paul Payne.
Our family invites you to join us in celebrating Deme’s life on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 4:00p.m. at the Farmington Funeral Home, 2111 W Apache St., Farmington, New Mexico. The viewing will precede the celebration at 3:00 p.m. Reception follows at Jacque and Gary Payne’s house at 65 CR 5251, Bloomfield, New Mexico. We have chosen to have a potluck style reception. Please bring a dish, a drink, and chairs — lets eat, sip, and remember together. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the San Juan Animal League in Farmington, New Mexico.
