Charlene “Charlie” Lucille Buchanan completed her mortal journey November 9, 2025. She was born June 8, 2025, to Mack Neil Buchanan and Elsie Lucille Johnson in Centerfield Utah. Charlie was the youngest child and had three siblings, Jerry Buchanan, Vivian Casper and Roger Buchanan, all of whom are awaiting her return in paradise. Charlie is survived by her nieces and nephews Kenneth Buchanan, Andrew Buchana, Shawna Casper, Ryan Buchanan, Michelle Buchanan- Smith, Christi Caracena, Nicolle Buchanan and Stephanie Buchanan and her many friends in New Mexico.
Charlie was an accomplished barber and loved cutting hair. Charlie was proud of her Scottish heritage and enjoyed attending the Highland Games in Salt Lake City with her family. She was often heard quoting the Scottish proverb “Be happy while you’re living, for you’re a long time dead.” Charlie was an example of this with her quick wit and ready laugh. She was a joy to be around and blessed the lives of those who met her.
Charlie loved gardening and loved flowers, especially irises. She grew many that would bloom each year, and she loved to show them to her friends and family. She also was an accomplished quilter and enjoyed making Levi quilts for her nieces and nephews.
Charlie was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many positions, blessing the lives of many. She will be greatly missed by her church family.
Funeral services for Charlene “Charlie” Lucille Buchanan will be Tuesday, November 18th,2025 at 10:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 902 W. Blanco Blvd. Bloomfield, New Mexico. A viewing will proceed the funeral at 9:30. Interment will be at the Centerfield Cemetery in Centerfield Utah.
For friends and family who are unable to attend in person the funeral will be presented on Zoom at the following link: https://zoom.us/j/.95333006998
