Jimmy David Fine

Jimmy David Fine, born December 20th, 1937, in Marlowe, OK, was sent to his eternal home on November 18, 2025 in Aztec, New Mexico. Jim was born to Charles and Claire Ida Mae Fine on their family farm, where he grew up with his five siblings. Jim's early years were dedicated to school and working on the farm. He deeply enjoyed exploring the outdoors, climbing the farms cottonwood trees to see how high he could go and chasing the local wildlife. Jim and his sister would spend summers visiting family in New Jersey, where he worked on local boats to help save up for college. After Jim graduated high school, he left to pursue college on an athletic scholarship, but ultimately decided that he wanted to follow a different path in life. He made his way to Bloomfield, NM, where he settled, starting his family and found employment with the El Paso Oil and Gas Company for 33 years. In retirement, Jim found enjoyment in gardening, farming, and rock work, all of which he perfected. He loved teaching and sharing insights to his craftwork with those around him, passing on his knowledge, appreciation, and interests to his family's younger generations.
Jim was an adventurous spirit, who always rose to meet whatever challenge he faced. He valued hard work, ethics, and was extremely driven both in his life and in his service to others. Jim was a positive influence on the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this Earth was marked by dedication to his work, passion for his family, and an appreciation for the natural world. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him and he will be deeply missed.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents Charles Fine and Claire Fine; brothers Ray Fine, and Lloyd Fine; sister Helen Fine; and son Timmy Fine. Jim is survived by his brother Jerry Fine (Marian), his sister Martha Fine; his two children Deanna Candelaria (Larry), and son Jimmy Fine (Trisha); his daughter-in-law Lori Fine; his Twenty one grandchildren Hali Fine (Lillian), Melody Atwood (Toby), Leah Johnson (Samuel), Roman Fine, Teagan Fine, Brexton Fine, Cammy Fine, Joshua Fine, Jonathan Fine (Joy), Leticia Shahim (Jamil), Jeremiah Fine (Hanna), Shalene Graham (Jeff), Erin Teulilo (Seni), Tiffany Thayer (Tim), Rachel Reyes (Josh), Makayla Kelton (Robert), Joseph Fine (Anya), Donnie Candelaria (Shanna), Melissa Noman (Adil), Nico Candelaria, Lindsay Benalil (Kyle); and his 40 great-grandkids.
The family will gather with friends for a celebration of Jim's wonderful life at a later date, which will be shared once arrangements will be made.
