Dena Tresea Robbins, 55, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 7, 2024. She was born in Stanly County.

Dena was the first child to attend High Point Kindergarten for the Handicapped in 1972. She was a graduate of the McIver Educational Center. Dena enjoyed working and was formerly employed at Burger King, Chick-Fil-A, and the local YMCA in Jamestown. She loved going to church and attended regularly prior to the Covid outbreak and she loved reading her Bible daily. She had a real passion for Special Olympics which she participated in every year from her early 20’s for as long as she was able, and in 2009 she was named “Athlete of the Year” by The Special Olympics of Guilford/High Point. Dena was a social butterfly and just enjoyed talking, sharing and being around others whenever she could.

She is survived by her parents, Don and Nelda Robbins; siblings, Donald Robbins (Jennifer), Jonathan Robbins (Melissa) and Lesly Robbins (Darin); niece, Kaitlyn Robbins; nephew, Ethan West; her extended family at the Ralph Scott Group Home in Elon, Carolyn, Deborah, Courtney, Mary and Linda; and her caretakers that she loved and appreciated just like family, DeeDee, Ms. Faye, Stephanie and all the other staff members as well. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie Cagle Williams.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:30 PM Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Dave Johnson with burial to follow in Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:15-1:15 PM Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.
