Denis Frances Kearin, age 72, was born in Chicago and lived in Palatine for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her father, John Kearin, mother, Carol Kearin, sister, Jennifer Gimm, and brother, John Kearin. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, John Doody, her son, Michael (Liv) Doody, her daughter, Shannon (Jeremiah) Doody, and three siblings, Jackie Burns, Candice Strunk, and Tom Kearin. She also leaves behind two cherished grandchildren, Milo and Hudson Doody. She was a loving aunt and cousin to many more.
She was extremely passionate about helping people and animals. Denis was an ICU nurse for many years. Her colleague turned sister-in-law, Suzanne, set her up on a blind date with John, which is how she met the love of her life. They had two children, and she loved them so much she dedicated herself as a full-time mother. She put over 30,000 miles a year on her vehicle taking care of them, ensuring they were in extracurriculars, and was an extremely active and loving mother. One of her passions was planning vacations to make sure they were well traveled, a skill they have carried forward. Laughing with her family was one of her favorite activities and she did that up until the end. She relished spending time with her horses, dogs, cats, a rabbit, and a brief stint with a lamb over the years, a love she learned from her father.
