Thomas Marcheschi Obituary

Visit the Smith-Corcoran Palatine Funeral Home website to view the full obituary.
Thomas J. Marcheschi, born on September 8, 1944, passed away peacefully after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by the loving presence of his family on February 20, 2026.

He shared 20 beautiful years of marriage and many more years of love with his devoted wife, Terry Marcheschi (Lytle) and was a loving and devoted father to David Marcheschi and Debbie Krupp. He was a cherished grandfather to Alex Krupp and Eli Marcheschi and caring father-in-law to Pete Krupp and Amy Marcheschi and caring stepfather to Billy Baldree. He was never happier than when he was spending time with his grandsons, sharing stories, laughter, and creating memories that will be cherished forever. His pride in his family was evident in everything he did.

In his younger years, Tom played high school football, a sport that reflected his strength, determination, and team spirit. He remained a lifelong football fan and was a devoted supporter of the Chicago Bears. He also enjoyed watching baseball and could often be found relaxing with a game on television or enjoying his favorite game shows.

Tom was a true foodie at heart. He found joy in cooking delicious meals for those he loved and delighted in trying new restaurants with friends and family. For him, food was more than a meal - it was a way to bring people together. For Tom, food was never just about eating; it was about togetherness and hospitality.

Above all, Tom will be remembered for his warmth, loving nature, and wonderful sense of humor. He had the kind of smile that made others feel instantly welcome and a generous spirit that touched everyone he met. He was a loving soul whose presence filled a room with comfort and laughter. Tom lived with integrity and kindness.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we are deeply grateful for the time we shared with Tom - for the lessons he taught us, the traditions he created, and the unconditional love he gave so freely. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished so dearly, and he will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home 185 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine, IL. For funeral information call 847-359-8020.
