Marjorie L. Lutz

Marjorie "Marj" L. Lutz (née Swift), Age 95, a resident of Barrington, passed away Monday, February 16, 2026, at the Garlands in Barrington, Illinois. She was born July 13, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois. She was proceeded in death by her husband. Joseph, parents Elmer and Catherine, brother Russel, sisters Ruth (late Dalbert) and Nancy. She is survived by her sister Lois (late Laurence) Johnson and by her son Ronald Lutz (Dao) and daughter Kathleen Nebel (Richard), grandchildren Roger Lutz (Jill), Sarah Nisbet, Ken Nebel (Seth), Jonathan Lutz (Melissa), Laura Steely (Drew), Dan Nebel (Erin), Mark Thompson (Parker) and by her great grandchildren Juliana, Lana, Caleb, Aaron, Kaylee, Emily, Wesley, Felicity, Troy, Jackson, and Ember.

Marj graduated from Amundsen High School in 1948 and went to Wright College before getting married in 1951 to Joe. They made their homes in Chicago, Lansing, Belvidere, Rolling Meadows, and Barrington. She was an active volunteer with the Girl Scouts for ten years. She will be remembered for her positive nature and ability to engage others in conversation.
