Denis Mendez

Denis Mendez, age 58 years, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, November 23, 2025, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital - Somerset, Somerville, NJ. Born on May 20, 1967, in New Jersey, Denis was the son of the late Miguel and Sivida I. (Pulido) Mendez. He had resided in the Hunterdon County, NJ area since 1998.

Throughout his life, Denis found joy in various activities. In his youth, he enjoyed the exhilaration of riding bicycles and was an active participant in the Boy Scouts of America, experiences that fostered his adventurous spirit. An enthusiastic competitor, Denis took great pride in representing his abilities in The Special Olympics of New Jersey, where he competed at the county and state level. These accomplishments brought him immense happiness and allowed him to connect with friends and fellow athletes.

Denis also enjoyed attending socials organized by the ARC of Essex County and Hunterdon County, where he cherished the bonds of friendship and community that enriched his life. His zest for life and caring nature touched many lives, leaving a lasting impression on those who knew him.

Denis leaves behind his brother and sister-in-law, Edwin and Joyce Mendez, of Whitehouse Station, NJ, cherishing the memories they created together. He was predeceased by his parents, the late Miguel and Sivida I. (Pulido) Mendez, who undoubtedly played a significant role in shaping his kind-hearted spirit.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Denis's life on Wednesday morning, November 26, 2025. A visitation will be held from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, located at 147 Main St, Flemington, NJ, 08822. A Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated at St. Magdalen Church, located at 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ, 08822, beginning at 10:00 AM. Following the Mass, interment with his parents, will take place at St. Magdalen Cemetery, North Main Street, Flemington, NJ, 08822.
