Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary - Allisonville Rd.Denise A. Barden was a caring mother, nana, daughter, aunt, sister, cousin and friend. She unexpectedly left this world on September 15, 2025 at the age of 69. She was born on October 25, 1955 to Noble and Norma (Ellis) Hodges in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Denise was a case worker for the State of Indiana before she retired. She enjoyed watching court TV shows, reading, and solving crossword puzzles. Denise loved attending church and was involved in the prison ministry. She was a woman of faith and peace, and this was reflected on everyone she came in contact with. For some she was the closest model of what Christ’s unconditional love looks like. She never met a stranger. Her bright and energetic personality was contagious, and she was determined to uplift anyone she spoke to. Denise enjoyed traveling with her family and loved spending time with her daughter and grandchildren. Her eyes lit up anytime her grandkids walked in the room. Family was indeed the most important thing to her, and she made sure that they knew it.
Denise is survived by her mother, Norma Hodges; daughter, Rashina Barden; grandchildren, Harley Payne, Victoria White, and Evan White; brother, Noble Hodges, Jr.; nieces and nephews; cousins, Nada and Harvey; along with a host of other cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father; sister, Elaine Hodges; brother, Anthony Hodges; and husband, Joseph Barden.
Denise will forever be celebrated in our hearts, and her spirit will continue to live on through her loved ones.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, with services at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, in Fishers. Pastor Kimberly Tyler will officiate.
