Diane (Johnson) Birge, born September 23, 1945, in New York to Bearnard and Mallissa (Sams) Johnson, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025.
Diane is survived by her daughter, Michelle Swift (spouse: Robert); her grandchildren, Kylee Swisher (daughters: Myla and Ariella), Andrew Swift (daughter: Victoria), and Aaron Birge (spouse: Dustin). She is also survived by her sisters, Pamela Johnson and Lynette Hobbs (spouse: James); her niece, Shelby Hobbs; and many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bearnard and Mallissa (Sams) Johnson, and her son, Phillip Birge.
Born and raised in New York, Diane later moved to Detroit, then eventually settled in Fishers, Indiana, as she began seventh grade. She graduated from Fishers High School in 1963 and was a proud member of Job’s Daughters, a leadership organization for young women. She had a career in sales for many years, along with an award-winning job with Home Interior which she was very passionate about.
Diane enjoyed spending time outdoors, decorating her home, and most of all, making memories with her family. Later, she discovered her love and talent for ceramics. Diane’s family was her greatest joy, and she loved them deeply. Her kindness, creativity, and love will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know her.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, with services at 12:00 pm, on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, in Fishers, Indiana. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
