James Eldon "Jim" Ottinger

James "Jim" Eldon Ottinger, 77, of Noblesville, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024.
He was born in Indianapolis on February 13, 1947, to the late Gareld and Dreama (Pearson) Ottinger.
On July 27, 1968, Jim married Cassandra "Casey" Kunkle and they shared 55 years of marriage.
Jim attended Fishers High School and was a part of the graduating class of 1965. After high school, Jim proudly served in the United States Army. Upon being discharged from service, Jim went to begin his career as a Carpenter. He was employed by Butz Lumber Company for 30+ years until his retirement in 2008. Jim was a member of Wood Carvers Special Interest Chapter (CIWW) and the American Legion Post 777 Indianapolis, IN. He enjoyed being outside, bird watching and bird feeding, playing guitar, and listening to music: especially John Denver, bluegrass, gospel. He loved to stay busy with projects, hiking, and fishing. Jim also loved the time spent with Casey. They traveled to the state parks, went antiquing, and did their weekly shopping together. They loved to go eat breakfast before their weekly shopping and spend the morning together. One of Jim's greatest joys was hanging out with his grandson, Orion. He is going to be missed by many.
James "Jim" is survived by his wife, Cassandra "Casey" Ottinger of Noblesville, IN; son, Stefan Chris (Esta) Ottinger of Westfield, IN; daughter, Emily Ottinger of Noblesville, IN, grandson, Orion Ottinger of Westfield, IN; brother, Joe (Patti) Ottinger of Fort Wayne, IN; and several nieces & nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Gareld & Dreama Ottinger.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Friday, March 15, 2024, at Hartley Funeral Home, Cicero, Indiana with Adam Colder officiating.
Burial will follow in the Crownland Cemetery, Noblesville, Indiana.
Visitation will be Friday, March 15, 2024, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, at Hartley Funeral Home, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, Indiana. Family and friends may donate to the Indiana State Parks or charity of choice.
