Jill Birge, age 34, of Little Rock, died Saturday, September 6, 2025, at her home in Little Rock. Her death came sudden and unexpected. Jill was born November 30, 1990, in Little Rock, and was the daughter of Carroll Birge and Joy Philpot Birge. She grew up in Little Rock and attended Parkview High School. She obtained her GED when she was seventeen, and enrolled in Pulaski Tech where she received her Associate Degree. She then went to U.A.L.R., where she graduated with a BA in English. As a child, Jill excelled in school and loved reading, listening to music, and swimming. When she didn't have her nose in a book, she could be found sitting cross legged on her bed with headphones on, looking through her huge binder of CD's to listen to on her portable CD player. Summers were spent swimming at the neighborhood pool. She also had a unique talent of spinning a ball on her finger. This was a natural ability for her…she did it the first time she tried it! As she grew older, she enjoyed writing, especially poetry. This passion led her to major in English in college. As an adult, Jill enjoyed shopping for, and spending time with, her son, Joseph. She also had a beloved dog named Little Girl, who was her faithful companion for many years. At the age of ten, Jill made a profession of faith in Christ and was baptized in Lake Nixon. Jill is survived by her mother, Joy Birge of Damascus, Arkansas, one son, Joseph Birge of Damascus, Arkansas, one brother, Brad Birge, and wife, Heather, of Little Rock, paternal grandmother, Verba Lee Birge of Texas, one niece, Lila, and one nephew, Oliver. She was preceded in death by her father, Carroll Birge, her maternal grandparents, Carrol Philpot and Josephine Philpot, and her paternal grandfather, Coolidge Birge. Services will be held Graveside, 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at the Forrest Park Cemetery in Forrest City. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
