Obituary published on Legacy.com by Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes – MacDonald Chapel - Howell on Dec. 27, 2024.
Denise Renee Fogo, of Fowlerville, MI, aged 54, passed away surrounded by the love and warmth of her family, on December 24, 2024. Born on November 4, 1970, in
Howell, Michigan, she was a cherished soul who brought light and joy to every path she crossed.
Uniting in love and partnership, Denise married David Fogo on October 9, 1999, at Fowlerville United Methodist Church. Their marriage was a testament to true companionship that stood strong for over 25 years. Denise's love story with Dave was
one for the ages, filled with laughter, support, and endless precious moments. A dedicated and loving mother, Denise's life was beautifully woven around her children, Josh and Amanda Fogo. There was no role she adored more than being a mother; her
guidance and tenderness were the pillars that shaped their lives. Her bond with her children was fortified with each shared experience, each milestone celebrated, and every challenge faced together with strength and love.
Denise is survived by not only her husband and children but siblings, Jim (Teresa) Buell, Kathie (John) Kenney, Nancy Mazurek, and Becky Buell, all of whom share in the profound loss of their sister. Denise was a cherished aunt to her niece Kelly (Richard) Clement, their daughters, Makayla and Makenna, with whom their families shared several vacations together. Denise was also a caring aunt to her nieces and nephews, Tracie (Dan) Carter, Karen (Jamie) Hobgood, Angela (Sam) Wright, Bobby Caldwell, Ron Rife, Christina (Mike) Whelan, Amy Mazurek, Jim (Wendy) Ward, Jamie Ward, Michael Fust, and Stephen Fust. Denise was preceded in death by her parents James and Lyde Buell, and sister Judy Buell.
In addition to her human family, Denise was a passionate animal lover to her fur babies, Maci, also affectionately known as "Judge Judy", and Harper. They held special places in her heart and offered her companionship, comfort, and were cherished members of her loving household.
A person of many passions, Denise found sanctuary in the serenity of the beach. The palm trees and beautiful sunsets were a source of joy and reflection for her. Her love for travel often took her to the sun-drenched stretches of Florida and the enchanting realms of Disney World. Her wandering heart found solace in these escapes, soaking in the wonder and excitement they offered.
More than simply hobbies, Denise's interests were extensions of her generous spirit. She was an extraordinary caregiver who not only raised her children with care but also extended her warmth and nurturing to many children as a nanny for over 16 years. This vocation wasn't just a job for Denise; it was a manifestation of her innate ability to love and care for others.
Her happiest times were undeniably those spent enveloped in the laughter and stories exchanged with her family-these moments were her treasure, and she guarded them with her boundless affection. Denise's love for her family was fierce and unconditional, and her presence was a fortress of security and warmth for them.
In celebrating Denise's life, we recall the profound impact she made on all who knew her. Her departure leaves behind a beautiful storybook of memories and learnings that will continue to influence and comfort her family and friends.
