In Loving Memory of Denise Heaton Kozlauskos December 7, 1952 - October 19, 2025 Denise Heaton Kozlauskos passed away during the early morning hours of Sunday, October 19th at the age of 72 after an extended battle with Multiple Myeloma and the complications that go along with it. Denise is preceded in death by her husband John Kozlauskos, her parents Irving and Francis Heaton, her infant brother Clyde and older brother Phillip. She is survived by her brother Mark Heaton of California, her nephew Bruce Heaton of Nevada, niece Kendra Kozlauskos, nephew Allen Kozlauskos, and sister-in-law Rosanne Kozlauskos all of Michigan. Denise was a lifelong resident of the downriver Detroit area and very active in her community. She was active in several local support groups, helping others while helping herself. Her faith was also very important to her. She had an active career, starting in the food service industry where she met the love of her life John. She also worked in the medical field and ultimately retired from the government as an airport security officer. Denise was a cat lover with three beautiful Burmese cats, TigerLily, Elvis, and Cupcake. She cherished time spent with friends and family; she loved to travel and was a fantastic cook. Denise was known by her friends and family as a kind and caring person who put other's needs before her own. She will be greatly missed by the friends and family whose lives Denise made an impact on. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd at 10am at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery in Flat Rock. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blood Cancer United in Denise's honor.
