Denise Debby Smith, 66, of Mulberry, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on December 10, 1958, in Norfolk, Virginia to Edward and Virginia (Seagroves) Rojewski. She married Thomas Smith in Mulberry on July 10, 2004, and he survives.
She served in the United States Navy during Dessert Storm. She worked as a machinist during her time in the Navy and continued at Lafayette Instrument Company for 30 years. She served Women’s Auxiliary on the Madison Township Fire Department. She enjoyed quilting, photography, being outdoors and working on the yard and garden. She was a dog lover. She loved her family and enjoyed making memories and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.
Along with her husband of nearly 21 years, Denise is survived by her children, Danielle (Quentin) Mullen; stepchildren, Kent (Kelli) Smith, Kimberly (John) Hitch, Allen (Kristina) Smith; siblings, Polly Porterfield, Viki Jetmore Reichardt, Chip Rojewski, Sue Hall, John Rojewski, and Natalie Brooker; a grandson that she helped raise, Wylyn Gould, fourteen grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, stepmother, Natalie Woltman, daughter, Kristen Econmou; sisters, Millie Hughes and Sandra Ricketts; one great grandchild.
Visitation will be held, Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 11am until the time of the service at 1pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Mulberry Chapel. Burial will follow at Rossville Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the Clinton County Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
