Elsa Sexson Haugh

Elsa L. Haugh, 86, passed away at Mulberry Health in Mulberry, Indiana, on January 24, 2026.

Elsa was born on May 7,1939, to the late George and Philena Shirley Shaner in Indianapolis, Indiana. Her first marriage was to Jon Sexson, and they divorced. She married Stephen Haugh on April, 3, 1985, and he preceded her in death. Elsa was a finance manager for Tucker Plumbing in Mesa, Arizona, and had previously worked as a bookkeeper at Lafayette Beverage in Lafayette, Indiana.

Elsa was an active member of Sigma Alpha Chi for many years. She was an avid reader. She participated in league bowling and found joy in playing cards, especially euchre. Elsa was an animal lover. She always had dogs and cats who brought her such joy.

Elsa is survived by her children: Jon Sexson (Ala) of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Lisa (Greg) Wyant of Lafayette, Indiana. Elsa has 5 grandchildren to honor her memory: Eric (Linnea) Wyant of Viroqua, Wisconsin, Lucas (Laura Pillsbury) Wyant of Hyattsville, Maryland, Erika Sexson of Jacksonville, Florida, and Marcye (Greg) Lengel and Westley (Mallary) Wyant both of Lafayette, Indiana. Seven great grandchildren also survive Elsa. She also has two surviving siblings: Betty (David) Enright, and Georgia McCombs, all of Indianapolis.

Along with her husband, Stephen, Elsa is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Earl McCombs, brother Larry Shaner.
