Denise Summar

Denise "Scoot" Summar passed away on June 30, 2024 at age 64. The Funeral Service, conducted Brother David Rhodes, is 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at Hillcrest Baptist Church (621 Hartsville Pike), Lebanon TN. Burial in Smith County Memorial will follow the service. Pallbearers: Kevin, Michael, and Andy Summar, Wynn Gentry, Scott Brewer, Maddux Pyburn, Dylan and Tucker Askew. Honorary Pallbearers: Campbell Humes, Jason Swain, and Drew Hendry. The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN, on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church from 9 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m.
Denise Yvonne Hall Summar was born in Nashville TN to Hazel Richardson and Vernon Hollis Hall. She married Larry Summar and together they set about creating and living a good life. She has attended Hillcrest Baptist Church for the last 17 years. She loved Jesus and her family. She was all about watching her grand-children playing sports, family holiday cookouts, late night Rook games, and Christmas. She loved family time at the beach. Denise worked at AVCO Aircraft as an MRP Analyst.
Denise is survived by her best friend, love of her life, and husband of 30 years, Larry Summar; children: Jake (Kelly) Pyburn, Paige (Travis) Humes, Zach (Lindsey) Summar, and Hilary Summar; grandchildren: Lexi, Dylan, Tucker, Ella, Kate, Maddux, Camilla, Marley, Ramsay, Cambell, and Maddie; great-grandchildren: Kynslee, Kailani, and Kaliyah; and sister Gale (Martin) Burns. She is preceded in death by parents Hazel and Hollis Hall.
