Dennis Alexander Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 10, 2025.
Dennis Ray Alexander, born on March 27, 1964, in Coshocton, Ohio, passed away at the age of 61, on October 7, 2025, in Akron, Ohio, after a valiant battle with cancer. He was a man of great courage and humor, whose loving presence enriched the lives of all who knew him.
Dennis grew up in the nurturing arms of his parents, James R. Alexander and Shirley J. Alexander, both of whom preceded him in death. He forged a life of commitment and joy with his beloved wife, Melissa L. Alexander. Together, they raised a family that was the center of Dennis's world-his cherished daughter, Tiffani A. Alexander and her significant other, Kyle Lanzer; his devoted son, Cole N. Alexander; and his respected son-in-law, Chase H. Longmire. Dennis was a proud grandfather to Anberlin R. Alexander, Azlinn M. Longmire, and Daxlyn J. Alexander, and he held a special place in his heart for his granddaughter, Lazaya L. Longmire, who passed away before him.
Dennis's educational journey culminated in the achievement of his GED Diploma, a testament to his belief in the power of perseverance. He spent much of his career on the move, first as a truck driver and then as a locomotive mechanic, jobs that satisfied his love for travel and mechanics. His work ethic was unparalleled, and his colleagues often spoke of his dedication and the camaraderie he fostered.
Spirituality played a significant role in Dennis's life, guiding him through times of joy and tribulation. His beliefs were deeply personal, and they provided a wellspring of strength and peace throughout his journey.
Dennis's passions were as practical as they were playful. He had a talent for mechanics, which he expressed through his love for building model planes and tinkering with drones. His fascination with technology extended to 3D printing and computers, always eager to explore the latest advancements. Yet, it was the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, that truly captured his heart. Whether he was sharing his hobbies or simply enjoying their company, these moments were the ones he treasured most.
Described by those who knew him as loving, courageous, and funny, Dennis's legacy is one of love and laughter. His ability to find humor in the toughest of times and his unwavering support for his family and friends will be deeply missed.
Dennis's life was a tapestry of hard work, family devotion, and the pursuit of his interests, all woven together by the love he shared freely. As we say goodbye to a man who was a husband, father, grandfather, and friend, we celebrate the indelible mark he has left on our hearts and the world. Dennis Ray Alexander's story is one of a life well-lived, and though he may be gone, his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
