Dennis J. Anderson, 63, of Humboldt, passed away on Saturday afternoon, September 16, 2023, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
He was born August 10, 1960, in Decorah, Iowa, the son of Eugene and Martha (Anderson) Anderson. He grew up in various parts of the Midwest due to his father’s employment, graduating from Putnam City High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1978. Early in his career he started in phone technical support with Gateway Computers. His career developed and he became an IT specialist for Gateway, Cooperative Educational Services in Albuquerque, New Mexico, later the New Mexico Department of Transportation, then Mesa Vista Consolidated School District. In 2007 he moved to Humboldt and was employed by Corn Belt Cooperative, currently serving as their Senior IT Administrator.
Dennis served on the board of the Corn Belt Employee Credit Union, where he was a Past President. He enjoyed board gaming with his friends, computer games, Mustangs, nature, music, pizza and road trips with the wind through his hair.
He is survived by his son Darron Anderson of Cedar Rapids, his father Eugene Anderson of Fort Dodge, brothers David (Ronda) Anderson of Kansas City, Missouri, Rob (Mindy) Anderson of Fort Dodge and Greg (Kerry) Anderson of Badger, his father-in-law Louis R. “Ron” Taggart of Lehi, Utah, sister’s-in-law Marcee (Nathan) Corley of Eagle Mountain, Utah and Ashlee (Michael) Shaw of Lehi, Utah, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Martha and his mother-in-law Sally Taggart.
A Celebration of Dennis’s life will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 23rd and a Memorial Gathering will be from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service Saturday, both at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt. www.masonlindhart.com
