Dennis "Doyle" Argo, 91, of Rose Farm, concluded his remarkable journey on earth on February 2, 2026, passing away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Genesis Healthcare in
Zanesville, Ohio. Born on February 13, 1934, in Morgan County, affectionately known to most as Doyle, his legacy began as the beloved son of the late Dennis C. and Freida (Bankes) Argo. He grew up alongside his sisters, the late Ramona Swope and Jean Erwin, in the nurturing environment that his parents provided. His journey was filled with the values of hard work, kindness, and family, which he carried with him throughout his life. For over 50 years, Doyle dedicated himself to the road as a truck driver, navigating the highways with a sense of purpose and commitment. His career was marked not only by his professionalism but also by the countless friendships he forged along the way. Eventually, he shifted gears to becoming the renowned "Boat Man" at Buckeye Lake. There, he worked on and restored Chris-Craft boats for more than 25 years, earning the admiration of boating enthusiasts and colleagues alike. Doyle's life was a testament to love and devotion, making him best described as "one of a kind". He and his late wife, Margaret "June" Argo, were a formidable team, raising their beautiful family with immense kindness and strong values. Together, they nurtured a home that overflowed with love and laughter. Doyle was a proud father to Danny Argo, Becky (Kevin) Campbell, Deborah Argo, Amy (Rod) Moyer, Crystal Argo, and Marsha King. He was a doting grandfather to Cassandra, Angie, Danny Lee, Rebecca, Evert, Jeff, Kyle, Andrew, Josh, Wes, Kianna, Chase, and Katy, and he cherished every moment with his numerous great-grandchildren. Doyle's family expanded further with the addition of his beloved son-in-law, the late Charles "Chuck" Cox, and his daughter-in-law, the late Laura Caudle. Doyle's interests painted the picture of a man who truly lived. As a proud member of the Central Ohio Mini-Modified Tractor Pullers, he spent over 50 years as a tractor puller, sharing his competitive spirit and camaraderie with fellow enthusiasts. His love for the open road was evident in his treasured rides on his trike and motorcycles, often with his sidekick, Deborah, by his side. Their adventures included memorable trips to Tennessee and the joys of Dollywood. Camping with his family was one of Doyle's greatest pleasures, as he welcomed friends to his home for heartwarming porch swing chats. Stories flowed as easily as the breeze, and laughter was never in short supply. Doyle's garage was his sanctuary, a place where he could be found tinkering on his prized classic car, a Chevy 1949 Styleline, which he restored to perfection.
