Dennis L. Barber

Dennis L. Barber, 56, of Pickerington, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home in Blue Rock, Ohio, on Friday, November 1, 2024, with his loving wife by his side.
Born in Columbus to Jyl Lyn (Dozer) Barber and the late Donald L. Barber, Dennis was a lifelong Ohio resident with a deep love for his family, community, and his home on the Muskingum River. A 1987 graduate of Pickerington High School, Dennis continued his education at The Ohio State University, earning a Bachelor's degree in Education and later earned a Master's degree in education from Ashland University. He went on to share his passion for learning and mathematics as a dedicated teacher at Eastland Career Center, where he spent 26 years teaching high school Math and shaping young minds over a remarkable 28-year career.
Dennis found joy in many pursuits outside of work. He was a lifelong Buckeye, and an avid Ohio State Football Fan. He enjoyed boating and water skiing, loved playing billiards and played in several tournaments, and took pride in home improvement projects. His happiest moments were often spent around a fire with his river family, and enjoying the beauty of his home on the river.
Dennis is survived by his devoted wife of 25 years, Jennifer A. (Mercer) Barber, whom he married on August 11, 1999; his children, Jessica (Adam) Mick and Dylan (Allison) Barber; his grandchildren, Kyler Mick, Raelyn Mick, and Elouise Barber; and his brother, David (Jennifer) Barber. He will be deeply missed by his family and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Dennis' Life will take place from 12p.m. to 4p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the business center building at Eastland Career Center, 4465 S Hamilton Rd, Groveport, OH 43125. Everyone is encouraged to wear their Ohio State Buckeye's gear.
