Dennis Barton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wilson Mortuary - Salem on Dec. 11, 2025.
Dennis Wayne Barton was born March 3, 1965, in Salem, Missouri. He was the son of James Edward and Ruth Ann (Richter) McMullin. He grew up in Salem and graduated with the class of 1984 from Salem High School.

Dennis was a manager and car salesman at B&B Motors for many years. He enjoyed fishing, especially at his neighbor Janet Hasten's lake. He loved sports. He was a big Kansas City Chiefs Football Fan and proudly supported the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Team.

Dennis' greatest joy was time spent with family. He had a strong bond with his siblings and great love for all his nieces and nephews. His fur babies, Bella and Buddy, were his loyal companions and held a special place in his heart.

Dennis' journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. He loved to share scripture and encouraging words on Facebook. His last post was sharing the song "Come Jesus Come", and He did. The Lord called Dennis home December 10, 2025, in Salem, Missouri, at the age of sixty years.

Dennis is survived by his loving siblings: David Barton of Spokane, MO, Randy Barton and wife Becky of Salem, MO, Leona Brooks and husband Bobby of Salem, MO, and Sherrie McMullin of Springfield, MO; fur baby: Bella; a host of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews; as well as two aunts, several cousins, extended family, and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents: James and Ruth Ann McMullin; brother: George McMullin; sister: Lydia McMullin; grandma: Ethel Richter; special aunt: Joyce Blaylock; and fur baby: Buddy.

Dennis had kind heart, gentle soul, and was a bright light to those around him. His contagious smile and legacy of faith, family, and friends will carry on in those who loved him most. He will be forever missed.

Funeral Services were held December 13, 2025, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Bro. Jason Love officiating.
