Glennon Barton, age 85 of Bland, passed away on February 4, 2026, at University Hospital in Columbia.
Glenn was born January 17, 1941, in St. Louis a son to the late Alton and Stella (Koch) Barton.
Glenn was a 1959 graduate of Bland High School and a longtime area resident. He was married to Juanita Barton. From this union came two children, Michelle and Matthew.
Glenn worked construction for many years for Bill Krause Foundations. Following retirement, he enjoyed working on his farm outside of Bland. He loved bottle feeding the calves, doing farmwork and enjoyed fishing, playing cornhole, Pinochle, and other card games. Glenn was a huge St. Cardinals fan and loved his dogs. He will be missed greatly by his family and those that knew and loved him.
Glenn is survived by two children; Matthew Barton of Jefferson City and Michelle Terriquez and her husband Joe of Kansas City; his long-time companion Mary Jane Hawkins; siblings, Patsy Tousant of Albany, CA, Virginia Engelbrecht of Jefferson City, Mary Williams of Jefferson City, Jimmy Barton and his wife Bonnie of Fulton; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by one brother, Milton Barton.
Visitation for Glenn will be on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at St. Alexander’s Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with interment in the Bland Union Cemetery.
Expressions can be made to the St. Alexander’s Catholic Church.
