Mildred Rogers, age 91, passed away on January 7, 2026 in Yardley, Pennsylvania. She was a longtime resident of Hazelwood, St. Charles, and, formerly Belle, Missouri.
Midred was born on December 4, 1934 in Belle, Missouri to the late Robert and Emma (Hafner) Shanks. Mildred had two brothers-Delmar Shanks and Charles Shanks, as well as three sisters-Edrie Jett, Ellen Richardson, and Norma Wehmeyer- all preceding her in passing.
In 1951, Mildred was united in marriage to Wayne Rogers of Cooper Hill, Missouri with whom she shared her life for 74 years prior to Wayne’s passing in June, 2025. Surviving Mildred is her son Steven Rogers and his wife Stephanie of Yardley, Pennsylvania, two grandchildren- Alyssa Rogers of Yardley, Pennsylvania, and Kareena Rogers of Fort, Lauderdale, Florida and numerous nieces and nephews.
Prior to marriage, Mildred was employed by Brown Shoe Company of Bland, Missouri. After marriage, she resided in Montana and Arizona while her husband, Wayne, was on several military assignments during his service with the United States Air Force. She then resided in Hazelwood, Missouri for over 60 years where she raised her son, Steven, and supported her husband, Wayne, during his 34 years with the McDonnell Douglas Corporation.
Mildred enjoyed traveling with Wayne to numerous places, including all 50 of the United States during numerous family vacations. She also enjoyed homemaking, cooking/baking and reading. Her faith in God was strong and she rarely missed a Sunday or Wednesday service as a long time member of the Florissant Church of Christ with her husband. She often enjoyed studying her bible with Wayne and supported numerous Christian charities.
Visitation for Mildred will be on January 31, 2026 at Sassmann’s Chapel in Belle, Missouri from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with interment in Countryside Memorial Gardens near Owensville, Missouri
