Dennis C. Beutler

Dennis Beutler, age 86, formerly of West Warwick, RI, passed away on February 24, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Community/The Seasons East Greenwich.

Dennis was born in Cleveland, OH. He was the son of the late Charles Beutler and Sylvia (White) Daniels.

Dennis was a Navy veteran. After various deployments, including to the South Pole, where he was part of the "Deep Freeze" project, he was ultimately stationed at Quonset Point Naval Base.

While with his friends at the Sierra Club in Quonset one night, Dennis spotted a beautiful woman across the room and told his friends, "That is the woman I am going to marry!" When Dennis left the Navy, he relocated to RI and married "that woman", his beloved wife of 61 years, Joyce.

After his time in the Navy, Dennis transitioned into banking and retired as Vice President of Commercial Lending for Rockland Trust. Although he spent most of his life in RI, Dennis never lost his love for Cleveland and Cleveland sports teams.

Dennis and Joyce loved to go on cruises and enjoyed vacationing in Bermuda, Aruba and Hawaii. He was an avid fisherman and loved taking his grandsons out on his boat to his secret fishing spots. In 1991 Dennis won the RI State Bass Tournament. He took great pride in telling his "Papa" life stories to his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed yard sale-ing.

Predeceased by his wife, Joyce, he is survived by two daughters, Laurie Myers and her husband Stacy of North Scituate, and Karen Gendron and her husband Gordon Sr. of North Kingstown; four grandchildren, Michael Muschiano, Jennifer Mitchell, Heather Connolly and Gordon Gendron, Jr.; and four great-grandchildren, Skylar, Theo, Addison and Emma. He was the brother of the late Allan Beutler and is also survived by a brother-in-law, William F. Herron, Jr. of Warwick; sister-in-law, Janice Wilcox and her husband Robert of North Kingstown; and sister-in-law, Kathy Herron of Warwick.

Visitation will be held on Thursday March 5, 2026, 9 to 11a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. in the Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. Burial will be in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
