Dennis J. Binaco, 71, of Scottsdale, Arizona passed away in hospice surrounded by
his loving wife, Gail, family and friends on February 1, 2023 after a heroic battle
with cancer.
Dennis was born in Red Bank, New Jersey to Marguerite and Michael Binaco on
June 13, 1951. The family moved to Michigan when he was in high school. On May
28, 1983 he married the love of his life Gail Briman in Topeka, Kansas.
He earned his undergraduate and masters degrees in counseling from Western
Michigan University. He then moved to the Phoenix area where he earned a second
masters in social work from Arizona State University. Dennis spent most of his
career in private practice as a psychotherapist in Phoenix and Scottsdale.
Dennis is survived by his adoring and adored wife Gail; nephew Brian Latta (Misty)
and great niece and nephews Leighton, Brooks and Rhys of Topeka; and many
wonderful friends who were like family.
Dennis was a philanthropist to several organizations, a great proponent of
education, and he always put others before himself. He will always be known for his
sense of humor and love of family, friends, golf, scotch, and cigars.
A celebration of life will take place at a later time.

Dennis was a giver! He loved to have fun, play golf and share good times with all! His wife was his best friend and mine, too. He left us way too soon. I try to live my life making lemonade and helping others during both the good and difficult times. Dennis, you made a difference! Miss you!

Hugs, Gail! When I think of Dennis I remember him as a loving husband, a humorous friend and a GREAT GOLFER! Anniversaries are so hard and the second anniversary even harder. WE have so many cherished memories of Dennis. HE had the gift of being positive, knowing exactly what to say and HE made a difference in our lives! I'm thinking he is playing golf with our Scottie and they are winning the tournament!

Dearest GAIL! THESE anniversaries don't get any easier! I have so many loving memories of wonderful Dennis. I smile when I think of his humor. HE made a big difference in our lives and helped us when we lost our Scottie. He continues to play a important part in our lives, too. I'm sure he playing PAR golf in heaven, maybe with our Scottie! LOVE you, Gail!

My sister and I were patients more than 30 years ago. We were just speaking of the difference Dennis made. Amazing legacy.

I was looking up contact info for Dennis so I could refer a friend to him (as I have done many times over the years) & saw that he had passed. I am sending much love to his wife´s hurting heart.

Years ago, my husband and I were patients of Dennis. We were one year into our marriage and we were not off to a great start.

We´ve told the story many times but I´d like to share it for Gail.

I was convinced that the reason my husband and I weren´t getting along was because of him. On the way to our first few appointments with Dennis, I´d say "I can´t wait to tell Dennis what you did." I´d tell Dennis what my husband "did" and Dennis would look at me and say, "sorry Pamela, that´s on you." Next appt, same scenario. Next appt, same scenario. :) It was a hard pill to swallow but Dennis made me realize that I had some changes to make in how I communicated. :)

Two terms he taught us, that may sound familiar to Gail are, never to "tank" one another & he taught my husband to "stick his head in the lion´s mouth". To this day, we use those terms in our household. Thanks to Dennis, we´re still married 30 years later.

He was such a wonderful man and clearly made an impact in our lives and I´m sure countless others.

Sending love to Gail & everyone who loved Dennis

Sorry to hear of his passing. We grew up on the same street. I last saw him in the early 70's and was having a rough time. I regret that that was our last meeting. Rest in peace Dennis.

Lucky us, we were at Dennis and Gail's wedding! From then on, I saw how in love they were. Dennis was a great friend and had a caring way with him. I don't think he had any enemies! Bob and Dennis golfed on our trips to Scottsdale and Gail and I just talked and talked. Oh, the memories of over 40 years! He is so missed but, when I think of him, I have a big smile! He made a difference and helped so so many of us!

Lucky us! Dennis made a difference in our life and many others. We witnessed my dear friend, Gail, marrying Dennis. As years went by our friendship deepened. Grief can be so hard, but our special memories of Dennis will help us cope. His sense of humor and love for life & Gail was so evident. He will be so missed!
