Dennis J. Boardman of Delafield passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, November 4, 2024 at the age of 82. He was born in Minneapolis on April 24, 1942 the only child of Leo and Pearl (Horahan) Boardman. On August 29, 1964 he married his beloved wife of 60 years, Mary (Banasik) in La Crosse and together they have been longtime members of St. William Catholic Church, Waukesha. Dennis was a proud educator and teacher for the Elmbrook School District for 35 years. He enjoyed watching stock car racing, Badger Basketball, and Major League Baseball including the Milwaukee Brewers, Minnesota Twins and LA Dodgers. He enjoyed watching the Dodgers win the World Series this year. Dennis was an avid fisherman and pheasant hunter, and especially enjoyed doing both with his son Steven, father-in-law Mully and brother-in-law Tom.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Mary; six children, Anne (Darrel) Iwanski, Peggy Boardman, Teri (Paul) Sayles, Julie Obermeier, Susan O’Dell and Steven (Sheila) Boardman; nine grandchildren, Matt (Mary) Iwanski, Jaime (Nate) Iwanski, Nicole (Matt) Dollar, Bethany (Adam) Tomlinson, Danielle (Kurt) Malnar, Steven (Sarah) Sayles, Ryan Obermeier, Emma Obermeier and Savanna (Josh) Hamer; 10 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024 from 10:00 AM until the funeral Mass begins at 11:30 AM at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd. Waukesha, WI 53188. If desired, memorials are appreciated to St. William Catholic Church.
