Dennis “Dee” Bonner
April 28, 1942 – February 19, 2026
Dee was a devoted father and grandfather, a lifelong Shelby County resident and cartoonist, and a proud Indiana University graduate. If you knew Dee, you knew his keen intellect, his wry sense of humor and his love of IU athletics — particularly the thrill of knowing Indiana football won the national championship this year.
He is survived by his daughter, Kimberley Rumple; son-in-law, Tim Rumple; “his boy,” grandson, Nathan Rumple (Liv Rumple); and “his girl,” granddaughter, Allison Rumple (Kevin Richardson).
In place of a traditional service, we invite you to come to the Grover Museum (52 W. Broadway, Shelbyville, IN) on Thursday, February 26th anytime between 4:00-8:00pm to share in Dee’s art, his stories, and the people and things he loved most.
If you own an original piece of Dee’s artwork, please consider bringing it and sharing its story with the family.
Please refrain from sending flowers. Instead, honor Dee by giving back to the community with a donation to Shelby Senior Services or SCUFFY.
