Memorial Services for Dennis "Dennie" Phillip Bostick, will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Gallagher Funeral Home in
Ball, Louisiana with Reverend Lucas Lacour and Brother Bob Boyt officiating.
Private family interment will take place at a later date.
A Memorial Visitation will take place from 9:00 AM until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Dennis "Dennie" Phillip Bostick, 68 passed away on May 5, 2024. Born September 7, 1955, Dennie lived a full and vibrant life from beginning to end and touched the lives of so many people along the way. Dennie grew up on River Road in
Colfax, La on the family farm. As a boy he participated in the FFA and showed cows for the 4-H club. After graduating from Holy Savior Menard in 1974, Dennie went to trade school and began working for the Brown & Root company where he helped build the Rodemaker Powerplant in
Boyce, La. Dennie met the love of his life Teresa Laumeyer in 1982 and they married on January 7, 1984. He worked 37 years for Cleco at the Rodemaker Powerplant. He retired from Cleco in January of 2017. When Dennie wasn't working he enjoyed bee keeping, welding, and working his fireworks and metal fabrication businesses with his great nephews Tyler Field and Michael "Spider" Morris. He also enjoyed helping others in the Colfax community in a variety of ways. In his free time, he enjoyed flying his parachute plane and was working on completing his pilot's license. Dennie also enjoyed traveling with "The Tribe" to many states and national parks. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially with his sweet grandchildren.
Dennie was a great leader and the patriarch in his family and in the community. He truly had a servant's heart, and would stop whatever he was doing to help others out. Dennie served on the Louisiana Pecan Festival Board and was the General Manager for many years. He was a member of the local Lion's Club, Jaycees, and a volunteer first responder for some years. He owned many businesses within the community including a video store, a metal building fabrication business, multiple fireworks stands, and enjoyed creating and shooting professional firework shows.
Dennie is preceded in death by his father, Jefferson Franklin Bostick; his mother, Alberta Brosset Bostick; his brother, Jefferson F. Bostick II; his mother-in-law, Sharon Laumeyer; his niece, Denise G. Bostick; and his nephew, Brandon Bonin.
Dennie is survived by his loving wife, of 40 years, Teresa L. Bostick; his son, Michael D. Bostick; his daughter, Nikki B DeSoto (Jeremy); his grandchildren, Knox D. DeSoto, Duke B. DeSoto, and Anslee G. DeSoto; and his sister, Linda Bonin (Eric). His legacy will also continue with 8 nieces,7 nephews, 6 great nieces, 5 great nephews, 3 great great nieces, and 3 great great nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that a tax deductible donation can be made for a scholarship in memory of Dennis Bostick that will go to a Grant High School FFA graduate in 2025. Please indicate "In memory of Dennis Bostick" when making payments and send donations to:
