Send FlowersDennis J. Breece, 78, of Marion, passed away at 11:34 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2026. He was born on July 5, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan, to James and Margaret (Reece) Breece. On October 31, 1975, he married the love of his life, Roberta "Carol," and together they shared 50 years of marriage, celebrating their anniversary every Halloween.
Dennis graduated from Trenton High School and went on to build a long and steady career with General Motors, where he worked for more than 30 years before retiring. He was a man who appreciated the simple joys of life-bowling, reading, breakfast runs to Jackie's, and fixing up houses. He enjoyed Colts football, 60s Gold music, and fishing in Coldwater with his brother. He loved chatting with tenants at the rental properties he and Carol managed and was always on the lookout for a good deal at Meijer. Generous by nature, Dennis never hesitated to help anyone who needed a hand.
Family was at the center of his world. He is survived by his wife, Carol Breece of Marion; daughter, Shannon (Robert) Taylor of Marion; son, Dennis Breece Jr. of Marion; daughter, Kim (Tom) White of Michigan and Michelle (Andrew) Stalter of Michigan; four grandchildren; brother, Greg (Sharon) Breece of Three Rivers, Michigan; sister, Brenda Helton of South Carolina, and sister-in-law; Cindy Breece.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Margaret Helen Breece; and brother, Glenn Breece.
The family will receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
A service to celebrate Dennis's life will begin at 12:00 p.m., with Pastor Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
