Dennis was what police officers should be someone who cared about people in our community many times when my friends and I traveled through Geneva going to the golden kettle restaurant for breakfast after leaving the bars at Geneva on the lake instead of giving us tickets he would check us out and make sure we were safe enough to make it to the restaurant and home then he would tell us to be careful and not to come back into town that night he knew all of us as he coached a lot of us in Geneva sports little league and midget league football so he may have given my friends and I a break I believe he was the same with everyone and we all respected him there should be more officers like him his loss is sad but his memory will remain with everyone who knew him

Prayers sent out to Dennys family. He worked with my father John Bates at the Gemeva Police Department for years. Always knew him as a cop that was good at his job. He was such a good man and will be missed by many.
